Just a week after Bernard Langer won the Senior British Open, he has now won the US Senior Open.
Not only did the German Golfer have to battle against the skills of Fred Couples but also had to face a one sided American Gallery, who made no secret of their support for the American at the Sahalee Country Club, Seattle.
"When you play in the same group with Tiger Woods or Jack Nicklaus or Arnold Palmer or any of the big names in America, certainly the Ryder Cups - I've played 10, five on American soil - you get a lot more of this, so I knew what was coming." Said Langer about the support or lack of it from the gallery.
Langer shot a bogey free three under 67, to finish three shots ahead of American Fred Couples.
Langer's victory makes him the first German to win any tournament organised by the USGA, and the first Champions Tour player to win back to back majors since Tom Watson in 2003, when he won the Senior British Open and JELD-WEN Tradition
Forgan sponsored Senior Players Ian Woosnam and D.J Russell did not take part in the US Senior Open this weekend.
